Description:
Job Advert
PGS reduces the administrative burden for parishes by handling the processing of gifts, claiming of Gift Aid and managing general inquiries centrally. This alleviates the need for individual churches to manage Gift Aid claims and paperwork, allowing them to focus more on their core mission and community priorities.
In 2023, PGS processed over £85 million in gifts and Gift Aid. This was distributed to more than 4,500 church communities already using PGS. PGS served a significant number of givers, totalling over 75,000 with this number growing daily.
The PGS team prides itself on delivering excellent customer service, ensuring that both giver and churches receive prompt and attentive support.
Overall, Parish Giving Scheme plays a crucial role in facilitating sustainable and impactful charitable giving within the Church of England, fostering financial stability, and enabling churches to better serve their communities.
We want all our members of staff to have positive working experiences – and we seek to continually improve our working systems and arrangements. We welcome and encourage new ideas and suggestions about opportunities to improve as an organisation and in the services we provide.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to receive, process and manage regular gifts and to provide the required administration support to Church of England parishes and givers. Please note that this is an office-based role on a permanent part time basis
As Generous Giving administrator your key responsibilities will be :
- Receive, record and process PGS gifts from a variety of channels (phone, postal, online).
- Ensure record keeping requirements for gifts and associated documentation are accurate and kept secure through the use of electronic and manual filing systems.
- Comply with GDPR and maintain giver confidentially.
- Support new Parishes through the PGS registration process and register new parishes on the management database.
- Support the creation, development, streamlining and maintenance of a consistent and central record of processes and procedures.
- Provide support with ad-hoc projects, pilots, initiatives and operational improvement tasks.
- Assist with PGS communications, meetings and events.
- To welcome visitors and/or receive incoming enquiries and telephone calls - dealing promptly and courteously with enquiries and ensuring high-quality customer service.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience of working in a busy office environment, be flexible and adaptable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A good knowledge of MS Office - excel, word and outlook is an essential criteria.
If this sounds like you and you would love to join our team, We’d love to hear from you!
