JOB SUMMARY

One of Southlake’s strategic initiatives as part of our Strategic Plan is to “Set the standard in using analytics to maximize quality, outcomes and efficiency”. As Ontario’s healthcare system continues its transformation towards integrated local care delivery systems with a population health management focus, applying statistical analysis and other analytical techniques to geographical data will play an even more critically important role.
Reporting to Manager of Enterprise Analytics, the GIS Analyst will support the integration of clinical and non-clinical data from disparate systems across partners, and development of ArcGIS Online based spatial analysis and visualizations.
The GIS Analyst will correlate various source systems and model them into a single, cohesive, authoritative structure that integrates data into an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) resulting in a single source of truth that promotes scalability and performance. This role requires excellent Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), change management, and communication skills to manage multiple high priority initiatives within an agile work environment.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced understanding and knowledge Geospatial tools/systems such as ESRI GIS and Mapping products (ArcGIS Desktop, Online, Pro, Enterprise, Developer) and other GIS applications.
  • Proven experience using ArcGIS Pro and the geodatabase to prepare high-quality maps and conduct spatial data analysis using comprehensive analytical methods and spatial algorithms.
  • Experience translating spatially related user requirements and technical systems specifications into GIS applications, including developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling and integrating internal/external data layers, and interacting with spatial databases.
  • Experienced with manipulation, conversion and editing of spatial datasets using GIS applications.
  • Experienced with data management and executing geospatial ETL integrations of internal and external systems

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or college diploma in computer science, engineering, geography, geomatics, GIS or equivalent education and experience

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical consultation/representation to committees and working groups
  • Design, implement, troubleshoot and maintain databases within an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for spatial analysis and reporting.
  • Advise and educate key stakeholders on GIS capabilities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, design, implement and maintain GIS solutions to optimize geospatial and data workflows
  • Lead the development, implementation and documentation of data standards and processes to support effective maintenance of GIS solutions
  • Conduct spatial data analysis using comprehensive analytical methods and spatial algorithms.
