Description:

SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or similar STEM degree, M.Sc. preferred
  • Minimum B.Sc. in Geoscience, Engineering or similar STEM degree, M.Sc. preferred
  • Minimum 5 years industry or academia experience in related field
  • A current member of APEGA as a P.Geo. or P.Eng., or eligible for application
  • Displays a high EQ with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work across diverse teams
  • Experience with AspenTech Geolog, and COMSOL (or alternative FEA software) is considered an asset
  • Experience in oil and gas or other drilling related industry is considered an asset
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without restrictions
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required

ABOUT THE ROLE

Eavor Technologies Inc. (Eavor) is seeking a high performing, entrepreneurial Geomechanics Engineer/ Geoscientist, for the Calgary office. Reporting to the Team Lead, Geomechanics in Eavor’s Central Business Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for working within a team to support the global development and realization of Eavor-Loop projects. This hybrid role is based in Calgary, Alberta, requiring local and international travel based on business needs.

SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for geomechanical support of Eavor-Loop projects through the Feasibility, Development and Drilling stages
  • Build geomechanical models with in-situ stress and pore pressure evaluation
  • Attend field outcrop studies and procure rock samples for geomechanical lab testing
  • Rock property evaluation, including designing and coordinating laboratory testing
  • Detailed borehole stability analysis with thermal effects
  • Actively support projects through drilling and execution, including designing the geomechanical subsurface data collection programs (FIT, XLOT, wireline logging etc.)
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of Eavor’s project development workflow
  • Integrate closely with other disciplines including Geoscience (Geology, Geophysics, GIS), and Engineering (Reservoir, Drilling and Process)
  • Work within the Central Business Unit to support North American, European, Technology Sales and Research and Development (R&D) Business Units
  • Deliver technical reports and presentations across various project stages
