Description:
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an attentive and driven Geospatial Analyst to join our team. Your main duties will be to perform activities that support the Operations Team, which may also involve support to Product, Engineering, Rapid Prototyping, Marketing and Sales Teams. A successful geospatial analyst will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively while maintaining strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, a curiosity and genuine eagerness to learn, ability to handle multiple tasks, and show insight for improvement of workflows and product features.
This non-exempt (hourly) position will report directly to an Operations Team Manager. A successful candidate must be available to accept a shift schedule that includes weekend and evening work, depending on company needs.
This position requires flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule. Initial training will take place on a standard Monday to Friday workweek. Upon completion of training, the role will transition to a Tuesday to Saturday schedule, maintaining the same daily hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET, with an added 20% shift differential.
Please note that working hours and days may be subject to change based on company needs and project requirements. The ability to adapt to schedule modifications is essential for this role
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3+ years of demonstrated professional experience analyzing, annotating, and working with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and electro-optical (EO) imagery in real-world applications, including expertise in image interpretation, feature extraction, and data annotation for both SAR and EO imagery. Hands-on industry experience in imagery analysis and annotation is strongly preferred over academic projects. Demonstrated professional experience with SAR and EO object level detection is highly valued
- Professional experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI) and data formats.
- Strong knowledge of core GIS and remote sensing concepts
- Proficient with ArcGIS Pro/AGOL (i.e. toolbox, data layers)
- Skilled in juggling multiple projects/requests at once in a dynamic environment
- Ability to execute tasks with limited information provided
- Comfortable working remotely in a team environment with self-sufficiency
- Experience with command-line (CLI) tools
- If you are going to work remotely, a reliable internet connection is required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with attention to detail
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, is a plus
- Experience in commodities trading, analysis, or related fields
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack
- Ability to create Esri Dashboards and automate QA/QC checks and processes
Responsibilities:
- Analyze SAR and EO imagery of varying quality and formats (e.g., vector, raster)
- Create and edit geospatial layers derived from internal and external source
- Develop comprehensive reports with data-driven visualizations and insights from analyzed imagery
- Creating and updating maps and visualizations for projects, as well as assigning and validating data to be included in visualizations
- Ensure data is accurate, complete and consistent through validation
- Work with senior and GIS team members on precise data processing to required specifications
- Contribute to the development of standardized annotation and analysis procedures
- Support the Product Teams to implement customer requirements, and participate in process design discussions
- Learn and implement new technologies as necessary
- Providing technical support, such as troubleshooting and resolving issues
- All other duties as assigned
