Purpose of the Role:
The Geotechnical Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining consistency, integrity and for the development of shared resources of workflows, including the preparation of reports, assessing, and maintaining the quality of the stored data of the geotechnical and geotechnical monitoring databases. The role will work collaboration with the geoscience team to analyse and interpret geological and geotechnical data, maintaining the data workflows, preparation of geotechnical reports, and maintain quality control of the databases.

Qualifications:

  • Data base management diploma – Preferred
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering geologist, Geotechnical instrumentation, or related disciplines – Preferred
  • White card.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Geotechnical Data Analyst or a similar role.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry.
  • Experience with geotechnical data base management.
  • Experience with geotechnical monitoring and data management equipment: Piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers, load cell, strain gauges, settlement point, and convergence points.
  • Experience with technical report preparation.

Required Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Sound knowledge of Above PDF creator.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the geotechnical parameters required to design civil structures and tunnels including database entry and interpretation and communication to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of geotechnical monitoring systems such as data loggers and related software technology. FGJV Job Description
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, specifically, focused on solution to data workflow, consistency, loading and output problems.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date geotechnical databases (raw and interpretated data).
  • Interpreting and plot raw data submitted by Geologists, Engineer Geologists, Geotechnical Monitoring Technicians in a graphical format.
  • Preparing reports for the daily geotechnical monitoring meeting from the stored data, fill format, plot graphs.
  • Presentation and description of the prepared reports during Geotechnical meetings: Internally; with Designer; with Client representative.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of technologies through efficient workflows to extract, transform, load, manipulate, explore, analyse report, and visualize geotechnical data and geotechnical monitoring data for operational and legacy projects.
  • Instrumentation monitoring data input/output from loggers and data integration workflows for Piezometer, Inclinometer, Extensometer, Strain gauges, Load cells.
