Description:

We drive JERA’s renewable energy business growth in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. As a global renewables IPP working across the life cycle of renewables, we are looking for key talent to be an active part of this exciting journey as the business grows further.
The role will be based in Melbourne and will require frequent collaboration with the JERA Group Headquarters in Japan, the JERA Nex Headquarters in the UK and Parkwind Headquarters in Belgium.
As member of the foundation team, you will be collecting, analyzing, and interpreting soil data for our future Australian offshore wind projects. You are responsible for scoping, procuring, and following up geophysical and geotechnical site investigations, as well as building up ground models and advising on site characterization strategy and site layout. Furthermore, you will provide expertise regarding geophysical and seismic soil investigation techniques and interpretation of the collected data.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or review geological desktop studies.
  • Develop, review, and maintain ground models during the offshore windfarm lifecycle.
  • Identify the soil related risks during early planning, design and installation of wind turbine foundations, cables and offshore high voltage station foundations.
  • Review and create Employer Requirements for non-destructive soil survey techniques and participate in continuously improving our internal knowledge build-up.
  • Select geoscience consultants, survey companies.
  • Prepare scopes and specifications and review tender documents.
  • Follow up of the different tenders issued for site investigations.
  • Review the contractor’s assumptions and documents to ensure compliance with the employer’s requirements.
  • Participate in supplier selection process.

  • Interface with the offshore client rep or/and contractor’s project manager.
  • oversee the (timely) delivery of the surveys and reports.
  • Follow up and comment on the documents from the appointed contractors.
  • Together with geotechnical engineers, interpret soil characteristics and advise on the soil-substructure interactions.
  • Keep track of and implementation lessons learned.
  • You will be reporting to the Foundation Package Manager.
