Job Description
The role involves providing technical governance and support in Geotechnical and Hyrdogeological areas, leading field programs, implementing innovation solutions, managing risks, preparing project scopes and mentoring teams to ensure best practice in ground control management and successful project execution.

Some key accountabilities:

  • Managing Geotechnical Engineering functions in relation to design assessments for operations sites where required
  • Ensure that all site Geotechnical and Hyrdogeological models are maintained and updated annually
  • Conduct routine site visits and inspections to ensure ground control management plans are implemented to a high standard
  • Ability to develop and or peer review Geotechnical stability models (2D & 3D) from Operations or Consultants

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or similar
  • 15 + years experience in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering with practical experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a technical environment
  • Experience across commodities and mining-based projects and execution (preferred but not necessary)
  • Proven experience delivering best practice Geotechnical advice, with a track record of interfacing with and influencing Operational and Study teams across all business functions
  • Understanding of basic financial metrics and budgeting tools including relevant Geotechnical software packages
  • Demonstrate experience in risk management techniques and critical controls
