JOB SUMMARY
The District Manager – Eastern Canada is responsible for leading sales and business growth, performance metrics, customer service standards and team member development in our Eastern Canada Region. This individual is a motivating leader with strong business acumen and a creative approach to people and business development. As a member of the leadership team, the District Manager leads will have a team of 10 Store Managers and is ultimately responsible for the success of the stores within their region.
REQUIREMENTS
- 7- 10 years of progressive experience managing in multi-unit retail and/or beverage service organizations, particularly in Eastern Canada markets (QC, ON).
- Has experience working in beverage such as coffee or tea shops, cafes;
- Strong business acumen with skills in financial analysis and managing profit and loss;
- Experience in marketing or market development;
- Proficiency in sales and service systems development and execution;
- Strong problem-solving and decision making abilities;
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others;
- Superior verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities;
- Technical skills in strategic planning and sales planning;
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment;
- Collaborative and works well in a team environment;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to work a full-time schedule (including nights, weekends and holidays when needed);
- Must own a car and have a valid driver’s license;
- Ability to travel 20%.

Responsibilities:
- Leads 10 retail and beverage locations with on site leadership and operations management;
- Promote and embody the company mission, vision and values, ensuring all team members in the region are committed to making tea fun and accessible to all;
- Create and oversee the district’s operations budget to meet company targets;
- Establish strategies to drive sales and improve productivity and efficiency in the management of labour and inventory;
- Instill high levels of service and energy in stores where employees engage, guide and sell to our customers;
- Build sales strategies and community outreach initiatives based on market research and competitor analysis for their district;
- Recruit, motivate and develop a team of top talent Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers;
- Ensure a robust pipeline of talent, at all levels of store operations, throughout the district;
- Oversee delivery and execution of core training and development plans for the district;
- Provide ongoing coaching, direction and leadership to Store;
- Works in collaboration cross functionally and with an entrepreneurial spirit;
- Ensure compliance of health and safety regulations in district by following up with store leaders and ensuring employees have a safe working environment;
- Achieve high rate of retention of employees in district by ensuring DAVIDsTEA is a fun, rewarding and engaging place to work at.
