REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Post-graduate Degree level or equivalent in a scientific or life sciences field. A business certificate is an asset.
- Experience: Significant experience working within the drug discovery industry with a strong understanding of drug discovery and Sygnature’s value proposition.
- Track Record: Proven success in a target-driven role is an asset.
- Relationship Building: Ability to create short-term and long-term value by establishing mutually beneficial relationships with new and existing stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and produce reports to support business cases and recommendations.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Vice-President, Business Development – North America, we are seeking to appoint a Business Development Territory Manager to focus on selling and growing Sygnature’s integrated discovery solutions within the specific region of Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to develop, evaluate, and establish business partnerships with new and existing customers.
ROLE PROFILE
- Drive Strategy: Develop and implement the overall business development strategy within the Canadian region, establishing Sygnature Discovery as the partner of choice for all discovery services.
- Client Engagement: Secure and retain business through professional, consultative, and proactive activities directed at decision-makers and influencers within the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and VC industries.
- Internal Collaboration: Interact with internal Scientific Operations, Senior Management, Marketing, Therapeutic Area Leads, etc., to support market growth, identify project opportunities, and strengthen existing client relationships.
- Market Positioning: Position Sygnature as a primary or preferred provider for all discovery services in Canada.
- Partnership Development: Support and develop strategic partnerships to deliver high value, high quality,and long-term benefits to the business.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to gather information on potential new clients or business opportunities and projects.
- Lead Generation: Identify leads, develop and maintain contact, and establish relationships with key prospects with the objective of converting them to customers.
- Opportunity Development: Develop new business opportunities that capitalize on current service capabilities and use internal resources efficiently to convert these into successful contracts, improving the company’s financial performance.
- Sales Cycle Management: Lead the sales cycle with contract service and/or strategic partnerships from interest generation to contract close.
- Pipeline Management: Build a robust pipeline of high-quality, actionable opportunities that achieve or exceed annual revenue targets.
- Competitor Monitoring: Track competitor activity by monitoring websites, collateral presentations, trade journals, and discussion lists.
- Communications: Create and participate in meetings, presentations, and proposal processes for new and existing customers. Provide creative, consistent, concise, and accurate internal and external communications.
- CRM Management: Update and maintain the CRM system with new and updated opportunities.
- Industry Trends: Keep abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate within assigned market sectors.
