Description:

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Global Forwarding Agent to join our Global Forwarding division, and the Import Ocean Department in Milan.
In this key position you will responsible for managing and operating the shipment lifecycle for your assigned accounts. You will be responsible to ensure customer requirements are met and answered accurately and timely. You will be accountable for executing and overseeing tasks for each shipment in addition to daily communication, reporting, and email management. You will assume ownership of your accounts’ success.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business
  • Minimum 4 years of Global Forwarding experience
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal). Italian will be valuable.
  • Knowledge and experience with customs procedures and formalities (customs clearance, bonded transports)

  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and follow up to be utilized with customers and the network
  • Proven track record of dealing with customers and being client focused
  • Critical-thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needs

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understand international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology
  • Input financial components for accurate customer billing
  • Execute shipment tasks per customer SOP requirements
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate shipment data in Navisphere
  • Provide pricing quotes based on customer and network needs
  • Offer track and trace services and generate shipment documents
  • Ensure high data integrity: shipment details, incoterms, routing, dates, documents
  • Build strong customer relationships; respond and follow up on issues promptly
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Customers/Agents, CHR offices, and Vendors
  • Foster positive working relationships with team members and participate in new customer implementations and business meetings as needed
