Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Girl Empowerment Specialist is responsible for implementing both in-school scouting and after school programming within targeted geographic areas and/or school districts.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of associate degree or equivalent experience in the field of social work, youth development, marketing or public relations.
- Demonstrated skills in creative thinking, problem solving and innovation.
- Demonstrated skills in administration, budgeting, and teamwork.
- Ability to recruit, support and evaluate adult volunteers.
- Proven track record in developing relationships with staff, volunteers, and community organizations.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other departments to meet mutual goals.
- Ability to work effectively with persons of every age, sex, racial ethnic, religious, income and geographic group, educational level, and personality type.
Essential Requirements:
- This position requires registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
- Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional computer programs
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours
The ability to travel to various locations to fulfill the duties of the position.
Starting salary: $21.00/h

Responsibilities:
- Promote Girl Scouting within all council boundaries to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
- Increase the visibility of Girl Scout opportunities/programs for girls that are eligible for non-traditional troops within the Girl Empowerment Program
- Build relationships and work in partnership with key school personnel and community members
- Facilitate weekly and/or bi-weekly troop meetings with K-12th grade girls during the school day or after school
- Facilitate a pre-designed curriculum for several school districts to achieve departmental goals
- Ensure timely completion and submission of evaluation forms for grant reporting
- Maintain updated records and reports of each program site
- Ensure that all program materials are accessible and available for effective program delivery
- Support all aspects of the Product Sales Program for assigned troops
- Manage multiple troop bank accounts simultaneously
- Coordinate Product Program Cookie Booths sales with school personnel
- Provide responsive and high-quality customer service to girls, parents, and volunteers
- Ensure that diversity and pluralism are embraced and incorporated at all times
- Provide volunteer supervision, training, guidance, and coaching to support other volunteers, in ensuring a high quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience
- Attend monthly meetings with the Director or designee to review and discuss issues, incidents, curriculum, upcoming events, and/or program expansion
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of Girl Scouts
