FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GIS Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geographic information systems and a passion for data analysis. This role involves utilizing various GIS tools and technologies to support projects that require spatial data management, analysis, and visualization. The GIS Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing our understanding of geographic data and contributing to informed decision-making processes. Duties - Manage and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. - Collect, analyze, and interpret geographic data using ArcGIS and other GIS software. - Draft maps, reports, and visualizations that effectively communicate spatial information. - Build and implement data models to support project objectives. - Utilize GPS technology for precise data collection and field verification. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS solutions into broader project frameworks. - Conduct quality control checks on datasets to ensure compliance with established standards. - Assist in the development of custom applications using JavaScript to enhance user interaction with GIS data. Experience - Proficiency in ArcGIS software for mapping and spatial analysis. - Strong skills in data management, including experience with databases related to geographic information systems. - Familiarity with GPS technology for accurate data collection in the field. - Experience in drafting visual representations of spatial data for reports or presentations. - Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights from them. - Knowledge of data modeling techniques to support efficient database design. - Previous experience working on GIS projects or relevant internships is preferred but not mandatory.
