Description:
KEY SKILLS
- Demonstrable experience in GIS Systems, Spatial Analysis and a wide knowledge of GIS Data Products is essential.
- A strong understanding of the Land and Property and Planning sectors.
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL and experience in administration, database design and management
- Python Skills desirable
- Wide knowledge of GIS software applications including ESRI, AutoCAD Map 3D and QGIS
- Microsoft Power platform skills desirable
- Knowledge of API’s
- Knowledge of FME
- Knowledge of WMS
- Works towards and within ITIL change management governance
- Proven accuracy skills and attention to detail is essential

Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW
Savills Rural and Projects Division (R&P) is looking for a GIS Specialist to oversee the administration, requirements gathering, and content management of our GIS products. This individual will support our existing GIS teams in collating and effectively disseminating data, build relationships with third-party suppliers, and ensure continuous innovation and tool optimization. The role will focus on internal projects that require GIS expertise, while also identifying and supporting improvements in data management. The ultimate goal is to ensure that our GeoSpatial intelligence is utilized to its fullest potential on a national scale.
This person will support GIS Services nationally working closely with Rural & Projects service lines and Rural Research Teams, the Rural GIS team based in Wimborne and The Insight and Data Team based in Margaret Street, London. Therefore, location is flexible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working alongside our Technology Team, GIS Team and central Insights and Data Team to ensure that the data we curate is delivered in a meaningful way to our business
- Manage and sourcing data feeds of the GIS Web-based Mapping Tools within R&P
- Ownership and system administration of our default mapping tool (The Land App)
- Coordinating national and business requirements
- Driving GIS performance and data intelligence
- Database Management
- Project Management/Coordination of internal GIS projects
- Help develop and grow and streamline the GIS Business
- Producing documentation for best practice and guidance
- Producing business communications for project and feature release
