POSITION SUMMARY

One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Capital Planning and Design.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent demonstrates current enrollment status at CSUS student (must be at Junior level or higher).
  • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent is enrolled at CSUS as a Geography Major or MSIS – Geospatial Analysis.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing and experience using ArcGIS.
  • Demonstrates familiarity of other campus mapping projects.
  • Possesses excellent customer service skills, motivation, dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work on projects with minimal supervision and/or with a team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create, update, and maintain GIS database, utilizing Trimble GPS equipment and software to locate campus information.
  • Some projects will require importing CAD data from existing campus files.
  • Collect information by field survey to update campus maps, such as utilities, trees, floor plans and other campus features.
  • Maintain and update the campus space allocation drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
