Terra Archaeology Limited (Terra) is a mid-sized professional archaeological services company operating throughout British Columbia. We work with a diverse and growing client base, including Indigenous communities, federal and provincial government agencies, private sector corporations, and private landowners.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Terra is seeking a highly organized, flexible, and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a full-time role based at our Richmond office. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to set their own 8-hour workday schedule between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. A hybrid work option may be available following the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An undergraduate degree or technical diploma in GIS.
  • Proficiency with Esri software (ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro).
  • Knowledge of vector-based graphics software (e.g., CorelDRAW).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with various data collection tools and their corresponding data outputs.
  • The ability to work professionally and sensitively in politically diverse contexts.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will support the team with tasks that may include:

  • Managing and converting data from clients, including georeferencing.
  • Preparing maps and spatial data for archaeological fieldwork.
  • Editing and/or creating figures and detailed site maps for reports.
  • Producing graphics for artifacts and wall profiles.

Responsibilities may evolve to meet the changing demands of the company. Confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
