Claims Consultant
Claims
FLSA: Exempt
The Claims Consultant provides specialized claims consulting services for Lockton Clients to coordinate, implement and manage claims programs and advocate for exceptional claims outcomes in property and casualty coverage lines.
Position responsibilities
- Analyzes claim data, generates findings, and recommends a service plan and strategy for current and prospective Clients
- Evaluates Client’s existing claim program and Client needs
- Develops, implements, and oversees Claims Management Programs, holding vendors and stakeholders accountable for outcomes
- Monitors claims activities and facilitates the resolution of claims as needed
- Functions as liaison between Clients and insurance carriers, advocating for the best outcome for the Client while respecting Insurance Carrier
- Challenges adjusters as warranted, while advocating the best outcome for Client in accordance with Lockton Company service standards
- Cultivates strong working relationships with stakeholders, including: Clients, Producers, Client service staff, Claim Administration vendors (TPA’s) and Carriers
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Position qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business field, related field, or equivalent years of experience
- Typically, seven or more years of practical insurance claim management experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of the practices and procedures of Third-Party Administrators, and the skill to effectively develop long term partnerships that meet client expectations and needs
- Strong attention to detail required
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proven experience in the evaluation of the accuracy of property and casualty claim reserving practices
- Solid knowledge of the evaluation, interpretation and communication of insurance claims and coverage
- Well-informed of industry trends and governmental regulations
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting the confidentiality of client and company information
- Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, project team members, and associates at all levels of responsibility, representing Lockton in the highest professional manor
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours as needed
- Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night
- Legally able to work in the United States
