Description:
To strengthen our Data Office team, we’re looking for a Global Business Analyst with focus on finance, pricing and management processes. Joining us in this exciting role, you’ll take full ownership of a specific data domain and will be in a pivotal position to enable the next step for Sandvik Coromant’s journey towards becoming a more data-driven organization.
About us
Sandvik Coromant, part of the global industrial engineering group Sandvik, is at the forefront of developing manufacturing tools and machining solutions, with knowledge that drives the industry standards and innovations demanded by the metalworking industry – both now and in the next industrial era. Collaborations with educational institutions, extensive investments in research and development and strong customer partnership ensure the development of machining technologies that change, lead and drive the future of manufacturing. Sandvik Coromant owns over 1700 patents worldwide, employs around 8000 people and is represented in more than 150 countries.
Your mission
You’re the expert of your data domain and the first speaking partner to understand the needs of our stakeholders. You drive the roadmap and the evolution of our data products, and balance short-term value creation with long-term goals. Through Microsoft BI technologies, you secure priority-setting and enable actionable insights for our strategic and operational decisions. You feel comfortable interacting with stakeholders, as well as acting as sparring partner to internal and external experts and data engineers. At the end of the day, you’re not afraid of getting hands-on when needed.
Embedded in a strong, truly global team, you bring your ideas and experience and can in return count on your colleagues. You define, realize, and manage all related aspects – such as training and self-service BI – and actively contribute to the development of processes, platforms, and data strategies.
We offer an interesting position covering a wide range of responsibilities, such as:
- Management of demands and key stakeholders for the finance, controlling as well as pricing and management domain.
- Responsibility for the domain roadmap, prioritization and planning of activities.
- Leadership of the domain team (no line responsibilities) and responsibility for the deliverables to business stakeholders
- Development of the domains’ data products.
- Speaking partner for reporting and analytics-related questions.
- Supporting operational and strategic company performance management.
- Handling of operational aspects or reporting and analytics, such as access management and lifecycle management.
- Contribution to the development of our guidelines, processes, and platforms.
- Enhance and develop reports as needed to enable insights and support decisions.
The location for this position is flexible within Europe, where most of the stakeholders are located. If you’re located close to one of our sites, we support you in balancing remote work and presence in the office.
Your profile
Your personality makes all the difference! You’re a strong leader with very good communication and organizational skills who feels at home at the intersection of business and data engineering. While you’re not afraid to touch and refine PowerBI reports yourself, you excel at working closely together with and coordinate internal and external stakeholders to secure the best business value. With your proactive mindset for problem-solving and flexibility, you can make a difference in our team and the wider organization!
For this position, you need a degree in Economics, IT, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics, combined with a few years’ experience in data analysis. Your background and knowledge have given you experience in stakeholder management and you’re comfortable in working with senior management.
We also believe that you need the following knowledge to succeed in this role:
- A very good understanding of finance and controlling processes and a handful of years’ experience in supporting finance and controlling or pricing in their reporting demands.
- Proven experience in Power BI, including M and DAX.
- Basic understanding of relational databases such as SQL and experience in data modeling.
- Knowledge of Sandvik Coromant’s finance, pricing and management processes is a plus.
- Experience in requirements management is a plus, preferably in Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Azure DataBricks or Fabrics is a plus.
- Fluency in English, verbally and in writing.
