Responsibilities:
You will work within the newly set up Category team. This team is led jointly between a marketing and commercial lead with participation from all relevant functions covering Strategy & Insights, R&D, Procurement, Supply, Packaging, Finance, and Category Management (you). You will report to the commercial leads within the Category team.
The need to establish a category way of thinking for CB and how this translates to retailers will be essential to unlock this growth. When manufacturers speak to the retailers it is usually through the lens of brands whereas the retailer is more interested in growing the category rather than brands steal. As a result of all these factors, there is a sizeable opportunity to grow through category development.
This role also needs to fully embrace the corporate focus on sustainability through the lens of beauty of our people, our products and our planet.
General Responsibilities
Set the internal Global CB Category Strategy, how to implement it and how to track progress.
Translate this to a global brand/pillar and sku level portfolio strategy which can then be adapted to regional clusters and country plans. The country can then translate this to account level strategies.
Global category strategy is translated into an external retailer facing strategy and detailed action plan.
Lead the execution of this strategy to retailers through the local Commercial Trade Marketing and Sales teams in key markets
Set up process for tracking execution of this plan and recommending interventions as necessary to strengthen.
Build the annual Category Execution plans for AOP and support the strategic plans for the Global 3 Year Plan for your specific category.
Work with Global and Local Merchandising teams on the implementation of in store excellence, and how the category strategy can be translated in store to the shopper
Participation in key global T2T retailer meetings from category stand-point and provide guidance for key local T2Ts. Attend localmT2Ts by exception only.
Support local markets to establish category captaincy projects
