Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Global Category Sourcing Manager to join our team. As part of our evolving Global Strategic Sourcing team, we’ve created a new role to develop and deliver the mobility (vehicles) strategy. The role aligns to our cost and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission goals while supporting our work on the most cutting-edge and innovative infrastructure projects of our time, addressing the big challenges of today and shaping the built environment for generations to come. We’re looking for someone who has a strategic global outlook and category expertise in mobility, fleet and rental vehicles. The candidate will have strong leadership and change management skills and embraces a data driven approach. The global role will suit someone who is a results-orientated self-starter and enjoys working in teams comprising people from different countries and diverse backgrounds.
This will be a remote/virtual position that can be based on a variety of global locations. Although frequent travel to and from an AECOM office is required at this time, location should be accessible to a major city and the transport network for any business travel, should this be required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS plus 8 years of relevant experience with Category Management / Strategic Sourcing of indirect procurement for fleet and mobility specifically, but also a range of categories, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Strategic view of mobility and good market awareness of key suppliers, trends, emerging supply models
- Experience in delivery of strategic sourcing projects on a global basis, working across geographical boundaries.
- Track record of demonstrable cost savings, derived from a mix of strategic sourcing initiatives and tactical cost reduction activities. Extensive experience of strategic sourcing tools and techniques, including Rfx tenders, contract drafting, and supplier performance tools & techniques.
- Strong background and understanding of how to develop a procurement business case, devising a clear sourcing strategy and plan, and presenting this to global leadership teams to gain buy-in to a given sourcing project.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Experience of working in the services sectors, specifically, professional services, financial services and/or transportation, where buying behaviours can be decentralised and procurement mandate is low.
- Experience in supporting global source-to-pay programs through compliance to procurement systems, preferred buy-channels, and POs.
Additional Information
Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop and deliver a mobility (vehicles) global strategy to optimize AECOMs spend and achieve goals on cost savings and GHG emissions while supporting the operational mobility needs of our project teams. The global strategy will consider different financial models including leasing, hire purchase and insurance; legislation, regulation, and safety standards; shared mobility models; reduction in fuel and transition to new energies; autonomous driving; MaaS; smart mobility; connectivity; drafting and implementation of effective policies and processes regarding fleet operations; and monitoring mobility costs.
- Whilst the primary focus is expected to be fleet, the successful candidate should possess experience in other categories of spend and be able to work deliver broader sourcing projects outside of fleet alone.
- Savings and value. Have a clear focus from the outset on intended outcomes from any sourcing strategy to secure commercial value from the work delivered. This will include, identifying the current baseline and forecast spend, devising an appropriate sourcing strategy that balances commercial leverage, time and effort, and having a clear understanding of the targeted commercial outcomes such as cost savings from price reductions and/or rebates, areas of cost avoidance, and efficiency gains from process improvements.
- Stakeholder engagement. Identify key stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships with customer groups across AECOM’s global business, establishing Strategic Sourcing as a trusted advisor.
- Working with AECOM’s regional operational teams, implement a supplier relationship management (SRM) model with strategic suppliers including motor manufactures, fleet and maintenance management companies and rental companies.
- Data driven approach. Utilizing data & analytics and a network of key stakeholders, build a detailed understanding of AECOM’s current demand for fleet across key regions, and consider the external supply market conditions to identify the size and geographical scope of any new sourcing exercise.
- Lead negotiations and contracting for existing and new suppliers, using a clear negotiation strategy. Develop partnerships with internal stakeholders to ensure changes are delivered and savings realised. This will include developing performance metrics and working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve the financial and operational targets.
- SRM. Support wider AECOM stakeholders with supplier relationship management for strategic suppliers, including the use of key performance indicators and escalation of performance issues where necessary, to maintain value post contract and help to realise forecast cost savings.
- Utilise eProcurement technology and data to improve efficiency and achieve high levels of compliance to the procurement policy and processes. Examples include Coupa Sourcing (eProcurement), PowerBI (spend), Insight (spend).
- Support the development and capability of the Global Strategic Souring team by demonstrating high standard of delivery, staying abreast of developing industry knowledge and sharing best practice.
