Job opportunity - Vertiv is looking for new Global Commodity Manager to join our dynamic team in Budapest, Hungary !
WHAT WOULD BE THE PERFECT QUALIFICATIONS?
- 10+ years in strategic sourcing, ideally in EC Fan and Compressor technologies, preferably in an uninterruptible power and/or large thermal management application environment (datacenters)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Have a technical aptitude in Fans & Compressors in datacenter application environment
- Demonstrable experience in developing relationships with vendors, research and development and product development roadmap integration
- Ability to lead and have the capacity to multi-task , whilst ensuring that the small details are not overlooked.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills are key, along with ability to clearly communication complex scenarios.
- Requires very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and culture productive and lasting relationships remotely across a global organization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the commodity team to develop a commodity and sourcing strategy for the business in the assigned commodity of responsibility i.e. EC Fans, Compressors.
- Work closely with Engineering to understand roadmap and business needs in the category of responsibility to ensure identification of suppliers and supplier capabilities to meet those needs
- Oversee the implementation of the commodity strategies to optimize business efficiency.
- Perform commodity management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management.
- Work with Regional Commodity Managers in understanding the global spend and identifying opportunities to increase quality and improve value for money.
- Perform procurement reporting and analysis of management information to identify potential improvement opportunities.
- Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization.
- Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
- Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors.
- Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within commodity to improve business performance.
- Develop best procurement practices to lead and manage procurement teams.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors and product innovations.
- Provide assistance to company’s acquisition strategies by completing the due diligence and integration activities for the spend categories.
- Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with vendors.
