Job Summary
In this role, you will join the IFF Custom & Trade Compliance team, where you will support the Pharma platform and lead a team of Regional Custom & Trade Compliance Specialists. You will ensure the Global regulatory compliance of all Pharma import and export activities with special attention to sanctioned parties policies.
With the support of your team, you will need to understand the regulatory environment and how it evolves and develops globally and make the necessary adjustments to IFF policies to ensure compliance. You will be responsible for managing the HS classification process Globally including managing the performance of the Service center resources supporting this process and the export control processes. You will Initiate improvement projects in Global Export Compliance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead & manage a team of 5 – 6 Regional Custom & Trade Compliance Specialists supporting the day-to-day execution of our business. Manage and report metrics and KPI’s.
  • Accountable for compliance of all import and export activities for IFF Pharma manufacturing and shipping locations.
  • Monitor changing trade regulatory environment and assess impact to IFF operations. Make necessary changes to IFF policies and procedures to ensure adherence to trade regulations.
  • Key accountable processes -Sanctioned party screening process; Embargoed Countries; Export License and ECCN/Dual use management and control.
  • Respond to external changes including the impact of increasing complexity, material volumes and value growth resulting from regulatory changes and new acquisitions.
  • Tracking of changing global regulations, interpretations, and implementations of changes in local regulations
  • Develop Strategy for Trade activities across the trade compliance space and make recommendations on risk and exposure mitigations.
  • Initiate improvement projects in the trade compliance space
  • Establish processes and provide training to necessary stakeholders for compliant processes against various global trade policies
  • Global Customs broker management and KPI regular review
  • Ensure that IFF Pharma has a compliant and efficient global process for defining and managing HS classification.
  • Oversight of HS classification space for compliant use and functions against various trade requirements.
  • Maximize the usage of the Regional free trade agreements. Deliver savings year on year for the organization.
  • Provide training to both customs teams and internal key functional stakeholders such as Commercial, procurement, logistics and GRA on export compliance and HS classification.
  • Develop the global trade internal audit program to ensure that our policies and processes remain compliant and that the IFF organization is well prepared for audits from external authorities.
  • Manage performance of the service center in relation to GTS processes related to export control and HS classification. Ensure policies and processes are adhered to and that blocks are removed in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Trade, Logistics or equal by experiences
  • At least 5-year experience in import and export operation in an international company
  • Capability to develop and apply statistical and computer skills
  • Computer skills covering MS Office, SAP and SAP GTS is preferred.
  • Fluent English in speaking and written

  • MCTA (Manager Customs Trade Affairs)
