REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven, referenceable, experience working with/for a fast paced first generation principal
  • Desire to grow with the family office and it builds its AUM through returns and portfolio growth and divestitures.
  • At least 10 years of managing a multi business, direct investment structures including P&L/budgets across a wide range of industries (CPG, Real estate and health tech a plus)
  • +10 years experience working with a UHNW family in a financial leadership capacity
  • +10 years experience in investment management with a proven track record of generating strong returns across multiple asset classes.
  • Strong track record and experience working in the CPG space is required
  • Previous experience purchasing and selling businesses
  • Previous leadership experience in the global talent acquisition function
  • +10 years experience with leading and overseeing profitable land acquisition and development projects including acquisition of land, building and managing of teams, managing projects to budget, financing where required, and ultimately creating profitable divestitures.
  • +5 Years experience in international tax planning, execution, and delivery
  • +5 years experience with overseeing the budgets and projects for land development and construction, ensuring they stay on track and optimizing costs where possible
  • +5 years experience managing multiple FO residences and their support staff including overseeing the entirety of the service function
  • +5 years thriving in a fast paced environment within an executive capacity
  • A strong understanding of global tax and company structures, advising, implementing and managing
  • Proven success building, managing and growing investment portfolios across various segments and asset classes
  • Previous experience overseeing the financial implications and opportunities for yachts, cars and planes
  • Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts and financial models to the CEO or Board
  • Experience working for/partnering with the founder to manage and organize teams for peak performance in a multi-business structure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute on plans to achieve business goals
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Manage the family office from a financial and operational lens, including the oversight of multiple businesses, properties, development projects and investment portfolios

  • Leading integrated group level accounting and budgeting including quarterly zero-based resets across all companies to a standard that supports easy exit and investment.
  • Leadership of group level strategic planning including managing sessions with business unit teams,, optimization of processes and accountability for timeline and outcome compliance.
  • Creation, updating and management of portfolio wide strategic KPI dashboards and driving their use in consistent value creation.
  • Build and grow the investment portfolio, seeking out and conducting thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, ensuring that all investments are properly monitored and managed.
  • Management of global banking and investment banking relationships including establishing new relationships/accounts, preparation of presentations, managing reporting requirements and leading capital expansion initiatives.
  • Leading global tax strategy Canada/Barbados/Cayman Islands/US/Europe for efficiency, compliance, and risk management.
  • Lead acquisition and exit strategy across portfolio including identifying businesses to acquiring and leading acquisition strategy, and identifying strategic buyers for core asset divestiture.
  • Manage the current land development projects, evaluating the current development plans, optimizing and challenging budgets and timelines building successful and exponential value in complex markets
  • Set the 12 - 24 month look ahead for the family office, mapping out the quarterly and annual financial and operational goals to drive performance and growth, managing the team to successful completion.
  • Prepare weekly reports on the family office’s investment performance and activities against targets.
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts and financial models to ensure the organization is meeting its financial goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
  • Establish connections to additional professional contractors when needed, harbor and build relationships under the family name
  • Manage all insurance policy renewals, premium payments, and sourcing of additional coverage as required and as requirements change
  • Set and manage the overall family office budget and strategy, leading a team of senior functional area professionals to adhere to objectives while delivering exemplary service to principals on a global scale.
  • Leading the human capital development through the family office including staffing, culture and driving delivery on performance objectives and KPIs

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are a fast growing family office, managing a diversified portfolio of direct and indirect investments across multiple asset classes, including CPG, Manufacturing, Technology, Digital health, real estate, private equity, and venture capital. Our primary focus is exponential, disruptive positive global change, while generating long term consistent positive returns.
As the Chief Financial Officer you will be the right hand family financial office operating partner to our incredibly driven and entrepreneurial founder and CEO. In this long-term growth focused role, you will oversee a group of companies ranging in size, industry, country and regulatory framework, and will be the strategic implementer of his bold long-term vision. Operating in a complex, fast moving, aggressive and very ambitious environment, you will lead several functions and will balance the requirement to be very hands on but also highly strategic, attracting, deploying, and retaining very talented leadership in your teams and the businesses we manage.
In this long term growth focused role, you will be responsible for overseeing the family office structure with a financial and strategic eye. You will build out the family office structure, manage and consolidate multiple divergent global operating companies, track and advance budgets driving to a positive cashflow, and manage dividend and subsequent investment portfolio returns. In addition you will drive and advance our global tax strategy and structure efficiency, support the start up of new entities, and support legal and human capital programs. You know what’s required to achieve our long term vision and how to challenge status-quo to get there. Your passion for finding, evaluating and investing in new business opportunities and growth areas will be a key success factor for this role. Further, your due diligence in ensuring low risk high return will drive the family business forward. In addition to the new investments, your previous leadership experience in land development and construction projects and managing/upgrading other physical assets will ensure our current portfolio continues to flourish. Experience working with first generation wealth to build out the family office and investment portfolio to success will be a strong asset in this role.
