JOB SUMMARY

This role can be performed from the UK, SG, HK or the US. The salary range for the US is USD 400,000 to USD 600,000. For all other locations, the salary will be based on market considerations and will be discussed at the time of offer. The salary range for the US should not be considered an indicator of the potential salary in other locations.
The Global Head, Financial Crime Risks, will hold responsibility for the leadership of Financial Crime Compliance (“FCC”) for the Group, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations in relation to anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption and fraud. The role holder will be expected to position Standard Chartered as a leader on AML and Sanctions and contribute to industry good practice in support of the Group’s reputation and strategy. This is a senior leadership role within the Compliance function, with direct reports being at Managing Director level.
Core responsibilities will include the overall design of the Risk Type Framework for FCC, in alignment with the Enterprise Management Risk Framework (“EMRF”), proposing Group risk appetite in relating to FCC-related policies and processes, and reviewing and responding to the FCC Risk Assessments across all relevant policy areas.

  • Strong knowledge of the businesses, markets and operations of Standard Chartered Bank and the policies, procedures and processes through which financial crime risks are addressed throughout the Group

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
  • Discharge NED responsibilities in relation to any entity to which I am appointed by the Group.

Responsible for discharging Process Universe related responsibilities as defined in the ERMF:

  • Identifying processes within the CFCR function related to policies for which I am the Process Owner, and ensuring completeness and accuracy of the identified processes;
  • Ensuring that all FCC processes have named Process Owners and comply with the standards set by Operational Risk Type Framework (“ORTF”), with appropriate segregation of first- and second-line responsibilities as they relate to the Process; and
  • Reviewing, challenging, and providing oversight of the risk profile of the overall FCC process universe
