  • Deep experience across different communications disciplines with a focus on employee experience and leadership communications.
  • Superior ability to develop and curate compelling content with proven experience of setting ambitious editorial standards based on the audience’s needs – experience in media highly welcome.
  • Credible experience of advising C-suite and leadership on employee communications and reputational issues.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE AND POSITION IN ORGANISATION

  • This role reports into the Chief People Officer, leading the global Internal Communications, Engagement and Recognition function, part of the People and Culture business unit.
  • The role of Global Head of IC is to lead and deliver a comprehensive, informative, and engaging internal communications, engagement, and recognition programme across the globe.
  • Key stakeholders for this role will predominantly be the global Executive Team, Senior Leadership community, External Comms, and HRBPs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for setting and executing a communications and engagement strategy focused primarily on our people and our key enablers for business success, including transformation programmes, operational excellence, technology, and talent management strategy.
  • Provide strategic counsel to Executive team and leadership, giving advice on topics related to comms and engagement, leading all Executive writing/storytelling which directly supports the company’s business objectives, increases engagement and advocacy.
  • Lead and inspire the Internal Comms, Engagement & Recognition team, comprising of globally based individuals, and be an active member of the P&C leadership team.
  • Manage all crisis communications requirements from an IC perspective, working in tandem with external communications and other key stakeholders.
  • Continue to review (in line with tech best practice) and embed our channel management and infrastructure – leading the charge on facilitating the effective and engaging sharing of information across all regions, functions, and employee groups.
  • Embed the newly agreed Pulse Engagement survey programme across the globe, using it as a strategic tool to understand employee sentiment and agree deliverables.
  • Embed and deliver a global recognition strategy to budget which aligns to our culture of in-the-moment appreciation.
  • Support the embedding of vision, ways of working, EVP, and global Strategy to bring about ‘One AMS’ culture and sense of belonging.
  • Own and manage forward looking planner to support business and deliver on annual calendar – ensuring we keep an ‘air traffic control’ view over corporate comms and activities to ensure consistent with tone, style, and culture.
  • Continue to position the IC and Engagement function as a strategic partner to the business – assisting the team to manage a high volume of requests from the business.
  • Own and manage our Glassdoor account and ‘moments that matter’ campaign
