Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role you will provide seamless support to Professor Darzi through a range of administrative activities, with a focus on global health related work. Working closely with the Executive Assistant (EA) and Professor Darzi’s office, you will be responsible for providing support for Professor Darzi’s clinical, academic, research and post-ministerial roles.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

The Global Health Administrator position is a vital role in Professor Darzi’s office.
You will provide administrative support to Professor Darzi in their role as Co-Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI). In conjunction with the EA, you will work closely with the IGHI management team to ensure effective communication and support is in place. Key elements of this role include: organising events; managing travel arrangements and itineraries; preparing initial drafts of correspondence; developing and maintaining appropriate systems; and diary management including scheduling, liaising by telephone and email, and supportive administrative work.
Liaising with senior national and international stakeholders is an important aspect of this role. You will liaise with Imperial College and relevant NHS Trust staff to ensure all relevant paperwork is in place and processes are supported. You will also liaise with a wide range of other bodies, including worldwide government offices and international universities, on matters arising from these contacts. There will also be opportunities to support the delivery of key global health initiatives, including the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) of which Professor Darzi is the Executive Chair.
As the office acts as a hub for these activities it is necessary that support for Professor Darzi is seamless, and this post will be required to provide cover in the absence of the EA. This role therefore requires a presence in the office to ensure seamless co-ordination and support to Professor Darzi.
