ABOUT THE TEAM

The Data Architecture & Management Team is a diverse team which is located across Europe but mainly in Germany. The team is defining the Global Data Architecture guidelines and principles and is responsible for the Data Management topics including Data Quality.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the data governance strategy and its implementation across the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Coordination of all global initiatives related to Data governance
  • Policy Development: Establish and enforce data governance policies (tailoring the external regulations like EU Data/AI Acts to the EON needs), standards, and practices to ensure high data quality, integrity, and security
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to implement and maintain data governance frameworks
  • Data Owners: guide and support data owners in various departments and cross-regional projects/programms, fostering a culture of data ownership and accountability
  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on data governance policies, roles and their responsibilities, tools, standards, and best practices
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee data governance metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports to senior management on the status and effectiveness of data governance initiatives , providing expert advice to the business units and programs
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve data governance processes, incorporating industry best practices and new technologies

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Informatics, or a related field
  • Experience: Extensive experience in data governance, data management, or a similar senior role, with a proven track record of leading data governance programs
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, data privacy regulations, and IT security standards
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and the capability to influence stakeholders at all levels using a strong change management toolkit
  • Tools: Proficiency with data governance tools and technologies, such as data cataloging, data quality tools, and data management platforms
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Soft Skills: Leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, results-oriented approach, reflective nature and open for feedback, collaborative mind-set with a strong drive to go the extra mile
