  • MS Degree in business, marketing or related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in Category/Brand Management in the FMCG industry.
  • Working experience in Brand / Category management at Group/Corporate level as well as local operating level. Needs working experience on both sides of working relationship.
  • Strong experience in comms development and in media, as well as in product innovation, from ideation to in-market stages. Familiarity with product innovation and portfolio management processes (i.e. PLM, S&G) is an advantage.
  • Experience as manager of managers (leading people having direct reports) is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of new product development including proven experience in consumer research (qualitative and quantitative methodologies).
  • Advanced knowledge of brand building fundamentals including positioning, communication hierarchies and go-to-market executions.
  • Advanced knowledge of communication development including agency management and local adaptation of global assets.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret quantitative market data including market research, syndicated data and internal sales information (SAP).
  • Advanced cultural awareness and cross market / trade channel development. Strong cross functional collaboration required with proven understanding of supply chain, finance, manufacturing and local sales functions.

Responsibilities:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall development and implementation of strategic new product development, brand awareness, consumer activation strategies and communication/advertising plans for the Chupa Chups brands at the global marketing level. Contributes to achieving the growth ambitions for the brand, driving the global brand agenda in concert with Group and Local stakeholders. Leverages the team by creating a forward thinking innovative environment and culture with true ownership and accountability.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for the overall brand- positioning, performance and growth of the Chupa Chups brand at the local marketing level.
  • Responsible for international new product development across the NPD process, from ideation to brief to Group R&D to launch (working with all relevant Departments of the Company) which deliver profitable product innovations in line with the global brand strategy and market strategies.
  • Bears overall responsibility for developing, implementing, continuously assessing and adjusting the marketing mix for the brands.
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating an integrated communication and activation plans (including seasonal/special occasions) for the brands, partnering with the in-house comms agency and the external agencies.
  • Responsible for the marketing budget and growth of the gross margin and contribution margin of the brands, including contributing to maximizing value via the pricing lever and PPA in coordination with the RGM team.
  • Partner with internal design agency to focus on packaging development and optimisation.
  • International roll outs of new product development which includes supporting launches with sell in materials working closely with Group Customer Growth team.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with sr. level marketing managers at the local level to drive synergies and mutual win/win execution strategies for brand and category objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Group partners for a clear and consistent understanding of our company’s direction, NPD agenda and brand strategy.
  • Gathering, analysing and sharing of relevant business, market, brand and product information which could lead to new business opportunities across markets.
  • Manage identified cross country, cross brand or brand extension projects as project leader of the multi-disciplined project teams.
  • Lead, inspire and motivate the team, also by contributing to (marketing) capabilities building programs.
  • Optimize the collaboration with the local markets, supporting them in landing global priorities into local plans and improving the country interaction process.
