Responsibilities:
BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO GBS HAS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A ROLE OF GLOBAL PROCESS EXPERT – EXCISE (FLEXIBLE LOCATION)
Excise is the largest tax collected by the Group. Establishing and embedding a tight control framework for the reconciliation and reporting of Excise is crucial. The incumbent will need to act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing vital skills to support continuous improvement and process adherence alongside guidelines and tools to enable reporting compliance for entities across the organisation.
The Global Process Expert (GPE) for Excise uses their extensive process and leadership expertise to craft aan efficientOperating model and to drive the transformation initiatives to improve processes that are related to Excise from end to end perspective.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Provide leadership on Excise process design globally by working closely with senior business partners to ensure a robust compliance, process and control environment is embedded in the organisation.
- Will need to business partner with key functions within the organisation to support the dynamic fast changing business operations as the group transitions to a multi category and smokeless world.
- Ensure key controls, guidelines and processes, including SOx and Control Navigator, are brought together and updated, ownership of controls identified and communicated, and controls regularly reviewed and subsequently updated for Excise related processes
- Develop and deliver training materials alongside guidelines and procedure related to the Excise processes.
- Develop and be responsible for a clear Excise operating model, outlining key performance indicators to measure business impact.
- Define and embed the role of technology in handling the Excise processes and reporting environment.
- Assess current tools and technologies usage and seek for improvements and automation for an efficient execution of excise processes
- Accepts change and looks for new opportunities to quickly learn the new ways and identify solutions in cases of business transformation and legislative demand at local/regional/global level
