Description:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCE

  • Master’s degree in a discipline related to public health, health economics, international development, public policy, political science, business
  • At least 8 years experience in health policy, public health, product development or clinical research in Asia or Latin America. Experience of working with regional organisations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent partner engagement and stakeholder management skills, including working across cultures and contexts to develop and implement shared objectives and to solve problems and address disagreements where they arise.
  • Strong project management skills, including working as part of multi-functional teams
  • Ability to work at pace and to manage delivery of objectives across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to think strategically, articulate key issues and arguments persuasively
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English. Additional language skills an advantage.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

CEPI is a global coalition dedicated to supporting the rapid development of and equitable access to vaccines and biologicals against emerging infectious diseases. Countries and communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America are among those at greatest risk of the emergence of such diseases and often most vulnerable to their impacts if unchecked. It is essential that CEPI works in respectful partnerships with governments, regional organisations, experts, developers, manufacturers and communities in these regions if we are to succeed in shared objectives to develop relevant, safe, effective and accessible vaccines and biologicals against epidemic and pandemic threats. CEPI has developed a “Global South Roadmap” that sets its commitment to such partnerships as an integral part for how the organisation as whole achieves its mission.
The primary focus of this role will be to support the development and implementation regional and country strategies to guide and support CEPI engagement and partnerships with partners and stakeholders Asia and Latin America and Caribbean (LAC). This will include supporting and managing relationships with key institutions at regional and country levels. The post-holder will also support and monitor how teams across CEPI to build respectful partnerships to support CEPI’s mission and partner objectives. Dependent on experience and expertise, the successful candidate will focus on Latin America or Asia (while supporting across both), working with relevant Public Partnerships Department and CEPI colleagues and teams as appropriate. The postholder will be line-managed by the Director of Public Partnerships, and work closely with the Senior Global South Partnerships Lead.
The position is based in the Public Partnership Department, within the External and Investor Relations Division (EIR). The position holder will work extensively with teams across CEPI.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with EIR and other CEPI divisions to manage implementation, monitoring and adaptation of the Global South Roadmap across CEPI teams and portfolio.
  • Manage development and implementation of Asia and LAC regional and country strategies that support CEPI’s mission and partner objectives.
  • Manage the development and implementation of specific partnerships with country or regional organisations, working closely with PPD, EIR colleagues and relevant teams across CEPI. This includes development of shared objectives, partnership agreements and action plans and working as part of cross-organisational project teams.
  • Manage planning and delivery of high-quality external engagement, consultation and events, including internal and external reporting
  • Work with the CEPI communications team to support high-quality and proactive regional communication plans that work with and include the importance of regional partnerships
  • Contribute to wider PPD work planning and implementation
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive departmental working environment.
