Currently looking for a Global Standards Expert reporting to the Global Standards Manager the Chief Technical Officer/Vice President of Engineering will represent and promote Littelfuse in a variety of technical committees (UL, ISA, IEEE, IEC, etc) where Littelfuse holds memberships.

About the Job:

  • Support Business Units in participating in the development and evolution of safety and other industry standards, relating to circuit protection devices and the equipment in which they are used, to drive demand for Littelfuse products. Professional practices will be used to influence technical committees to favor Littelfuse’s stance on various technical topics and issues.
  • Distribute standards-related information and update stakeholders with pertinent information in the standards world, as well as ongoing and upcoming work with technical committees.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with subject matter experts and administrators at key standards organizations including Underwriters Laboratories, CSA, IEC, IEEE and NEMA, and leverage those relationships to influence standards changes, policies and decisions favorable to Littelfuse objectives.
  • Initiate, revise and update application notes, datasheets, product catalogs and white papers as they relate to Standards.
  • Analyze existing and upcoming device and equipment-level standards to identify new circuit protection opportunities and coordinate the deconstruction and analysis of various types of electronic equipment to identify circuit protection opportunities.
  • Monitor the markets of interest and make product recommendations based on standards’ needs
  • Support the day-to-day tactical activities such as conformity assessment of new products, follow-up testing, documentation changes and Littelfuse associate training.
  • Interface with customers through face-to-face meetings and conference calls to solve their protection needs with Littelfuse Inc.
  • Work with the sales team, field application engineers, technical marketing, product management and any other internal Littelfuse employee requiring assistance in standards-related issues.
  • Travel: 15% of the time. Working from home is possible.

About You:

  • BS in a Technical discipline i.e. Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience in conformity assessment/certification or circuit protection component technology
  • 5+ years of experience in standards development and technical committee membership
  • Experience with global manufacturing companies or conformity assessment agencies preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% when it is safe to do so
