JOB DESCRIPTION
Supplier Performance Manager will be responsible for managing performance and relationship with selected suppliers to Baker Hughes. This individual will identify, develop and direct the relationship, development and implementation of the supplier strategies as outlined by the Category. They will plan and direct activities and deliver against targets for financial Performance, quality, service and compliance adherence.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, or relevant subject); MBA desirable.
- Strong experience in Supply Chain, including demonstrable experience in a sourcing or procurement role.
- Strong level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, category management, procurement excellence, etc.) for minimum 10 years.
- Knowledge of the Oil Field Services or Chemical industry
- Established experience in developing and managing Supplier contracts.
- Energetic self-starter must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints.
- Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver.
- People management experience is a plus.
- Business acumen and strong negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office systems. Must have intermediate data analysis skills with Excel. Intermediate PowerPoint skills to create their own presentations.

Responsibilities:
- Developing the vision, strategy, and implementation plan for specific key suppliers to meet the strategies set forth by the Category Leads as well as meeting the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for Baker Hughes.
- Interface directly with supplier leadership of key suppliers to assure alignment of Baker Hughes objectives are met, including quality, reliability, innovation, sustainability and cost, and to enable benefits for both parties.
- Negotiate directly with suppliers in the portfolio to ensure products & services are purchased at or below market price. Support Sourcing if required on tenders for suppliers in the assigned portfolio.
- Make sure business arrangements for the suppliers in the portfolio are documented via relevant Contractual obligation. Work with Legal to ensure deviations from standard terms are agreed and accepted.
- Develop suppliers’ segmentation, capability & capacity assessments, and engagement plans.
- Collaborate and work closely with internal stakeholders and manage supplier technical and quality performance.
- Develop deep supplier relationships with key suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management and development, and improvement of end-to-end value, and bring innovation to the business.
- Drive period business reviews with the suppliers at corresponding frequency to ensure value.
- Leads strategic projects and initiatives with suppliers to capture new value and reduce overall end-to-end supply chain costs. Initiatives could include (but not limited to): lead-time reduction, establishing supplier safety stock agreements, end-to-end ordering and network blueprinting, and leading Kaizen process-improvement events with suppliers.
- Manage supplier risks by driving towards signed supply agreements or mitigating risks by leading efforts to identify and develop mitigating options.
- Lead Sustainability discussions with identified suppliers with the focus on decarbonization, resource & waste minimization and managing diverse opportunities & human rights in the supply chain.
- Provides advice and guidance to functional management or business functions on approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affecting business organization and ways of working.
- Handles communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
- Handles Projects as assigned by Management within or outside SPM Scope.
