Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Global Supplier Services Tax Operations Analyst in the Payment Operations team, you will manage indirect tax obligations arising from the firm’s Accounts Payable activities (e.g., VAT, GST, US Sales & Use Tax and various withholding and reporting regimes globally), Employment Taxes resulting from payments of staff expenses as well as owning the US Personal Property Tax and US Sales & Use Tax compliance. for the whole firm.
As an analyst within the team the candidate will be responsible for supporting any or all these functions as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCES:

  • Good analytical skills, a problem solver and logical thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with, and use, large amounts of data in an organized and effective manner
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills required with good interpersonal skills advantageous
  • Good MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, Power Point). SharePoint and Alteryx knowledge are an advantage
  • Functional understanding of indirect taxes to include employment taxes
  • Good time management and prioritization skills including the ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Ability to multitask

Responsibilities:

  • Reports and performs reconciliations on financial transaction data, undertaking analysis and interpretation to identify and/or resolve breaks and issues which could have a tax impact
  • Assists in the preparation of data for indirect tax and statutory filings, according to strict deadlines, to regulators across the globe.
  • Supports queries from and partners with local and global tax and finance colleagues and ‘line of business’ stakeholders, to resolve issues and deliver a world class customer experience
  • Participates in a culture of continuous improvement with focus on improving processes & delivery efficiency
  • Works on projects to implement new technology as necessary
  • Works on projects to implement new tax rules and regulations as necessary
  • Ensures issues are raised / escalated promptly and ownership taken to drive through to resolution
  • Operates with a control focus, ensuring risks and dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented
  • Provides cross training and participation on other tax reporting activities undertaken by the team as necessary
