The GSC Business Consultant is responsible for Total Order Management (T.O.M. Reporting), Planning, Order Management, Master Data, Invoicing, or Logistics global process governance with the objective of proposing and maintain best practices to maximize value for internal users and external customers.
The position requires both subject matter expertise of core business process and understanding of technical architectures, configurations, and integrations. The GSC Business Consultant will lead a team of globally matrixed subject matter experts and super users and will independently establish forums for best practice sharing and coordination.
In addition to improving the ongoing stability and optimization of global processes, the GSC Business Consultant will represent their process domain on change programs. This position requires leadership skills, the ability to convene globally dispersed user group and the ability exert influence without line management responsibilities. Directing user training and education of the user community is a key component of this role, including effective and timely communication of system changes, process improvements and promotion global process consistency.
What will you be doing?
- System Design Authority: you’ll govern system architectures, propose key changes to address business challenges, and ensure smooth integration through comprehensive testing and design reviews before implementation.
- Training and Education: serve as a resource for super users and subject matter experts, ensuring global accessibility to end-user training. You’ll communicate system changes clearly, translating technical updates for business users, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and educating on best practices.
- System Testing: review and help develop or modify testing scripts to create comprehensive test plans. Additionally, you’ll prepare super users and subject matter experts for participation in system functionality and regression testing, ensuring successful defect resolution.
- Leadership: act as a key resource for IT teams and business users, solving complex problems and driving collaborative resolutions. With strong influence and motivational skills, you’ll guide cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes. Demonstrating integrity, you will continuously seek learning opportunities, welcome coaching, and use feedback to improve performance. You’ll communicate complex information clearly and adjust schedules, tasks, and priorities as needed to meet organizational goals.
- Change & Quality Management: spot and raise any change management or cultural issues that might slow down business processes or system improvements. Working with team to find the best solutions with respect to diverse cultures and views of colleagues and team members. Escalate issues or risks to relevant teams, ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., QMS, FDA, SOX), submit invoices per policy, and complete performance management documents on time.
What will you need to be successful:
- Have 5 or more years’ work experience with system implementation projects in a mid-large size international corporate environment
- Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional, globally dispersed teams. Strong inter-personal and analytic skills
- Strong process orientation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interface and influence without authority across multiple organizational levels.
- High degree of self-motivation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated experience in performing under tight timelines
