The Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) function has an important role to play in helping to achieve EY’s ambition to create long-term value as the world’s most trusted, distinctive professional services organization. THE OPPORTUNITY

Sustainability is at the core of EY’s purpose of building a better working world through the our work with clients; the development and delivery of our environmental commitments; developing insights to inform stakeholder engagement and standards, and engaging with our employees in the transformation of our skills, solutions and services.
We have reduced absolute emissions by more than 43% globally while at the same time growing the organization (both in terms of revenue and people) by around 40% against a FY19 baseline. We are currently working on the next phase of our science-based decarbonization plan, to help us create long-term societal value for our stakeholders.

We’re looking for an experienced Communications and Engagement professional to lead communications and engagement for Global Sustainability. TheAssociate Director Communications & Engagement supports engagement with Global Sustainability led by Global Vice Chair, Amy Brachio, We want to be recognised globally as a leader in sustainability by:

  • Helping businesses create value from sustainability and position sustainability as a key business and strategic opportunity;
  • Encouraging and empowering EY people across the globe to become ambassadors for lasting change and make more sustainable choices in their everyday actions;
  • Demonstrating leadership through high profile projects, and by decarbonising our internal operations.

Working in close partnership with the Global Vice Chair for Sustainability and the Global BMC leader, you will be a proven leader who is a passionate advocate for audience-centric communications. You will be a trusted business partner within the Global Sustainability and Communications and Engagement teams, advising on all aspects of communications and engagement.

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be accountable for design and delivery of communications and engagement strategy, plans, and collateral for Global Sustainability.

  • Create and lead a holistic global internal communications plan to inspire, engage and inform our sustainability communities and EY people about our Global Sustainability strategy and its activation.
  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the Global Sustainability BMC team, particularly the External Comms Leader to define an integrated comms approach that supports our Sustainability brand, marketing and comms strategy.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Vice Chair, Global Sustainability and Global Sustainability BMC Leader on communication and engagement activities including writing newsletters, Yammer posts, presentations and internal talking points, that help our people understand the strategy, value proposition, plans to build our sustainability brand in the market and to engage with clients around their sustainability agenda.
  • Work collaboratively with sustainability BMC teams across the business to enable and integrate our global communications strategy across SLs and Sectors.
  • Lead delivery across internal channels, including the creation of tools and assets to engage and enable our people, and be leveraged by other communications and engagement colleagues within our global network.
  • Develop ideas and share innovative and creative communication approaches to ‘cut through’ and inspire and engage our people.
  • Work with the Global Leadership and Partner Communications team, to support on content to be delivered to our leadership and partner audiences.
  • Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with other CE Leaders across the firm, including for Corporate Responsibility (Ripples) and our Environmental Strategy
  • Produce, manage and track regular global communications to dedicated sustainability communities

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of seven + years of strategic internal communications experience in a global professional services environment, with a proven track record in assisting executive teams.
  • Experience in a cross-border role, successfully managing virtual teams and/or multiple complex projects at a global level.
  • Experience on a variety of global programs to deliver communications initiatives and measure the outcomes of these efforts.
  • Working knowledge of EY, the professional services sector, or matrix organizations.
  • Strong verbal and written English
