Education:

  • Master of Science degree, or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience and understanding large global organizations
  • Experience with collaborative work with multiple teams
  • Experience in sustainability, environmental science or related field will be a distinct advantage
  • Experience from project management
  • Knowledge of data management

Desired skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience, preferably in an international organisation
  • Strong integrity and a commitment to sustainability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities:

Jotun’s sustainability activities are structured in a decentralized manner. Your responsibility will be to coordinate sustainability activities in functions across Jotun and ensure global alignment of sustainability elements in our global business approach.
Jotun’s ambition is to include sustainability elements into its business offering, and this requires cooperation across the complete value chain. Your job will be to work closely with related functions to support reporting, publication of results and status linked to sustainability in a pragmatic, precise and market-oriented manner.
Additionally, Jotun receive numerous requests for information related to sustainability from authorities and business partners. You will be involved in managing proper response to such requests and partake in how Jotun otherwise communicate sustainability topics on all platforms.
You will work in the Group Strategy & Sustainability department with 3 colleagues and report to the GVP Strategy & Sustainability.

Your tasks will be to:

  • Stay updated on sustainability-trends in society, our markets and among competitors, taking care to separate greenwashing from real initiatives to ensure Jotun is aware of status, demands and expectations and able to develop solutions to fulfil these.
  • Participate in work to identify scientific/quantifiable sustainability parameters relevant for our markets to become a credible supplier and promote sustainable solutions.
  • Work closely with relevant Group and Segment functions to develop relevant value-chain activities where sustainability elements are included to respond to market trends and expectations
  • Participate in in specific projects related to sustainability elements, from R&D and Purchasing to Marketing & Sales for proper implementation of pilot solutions and adherence to our strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a Sustainability presentation package for internal and external use which may be adapted to different departments and interests. Ensure global involvement and ownership within Jotun- including regions and countries.
  • Contribute to and manage Sustainability content published on web and other platforms, and ensure that these are in line with overall Sustainability and commercial ambitions.
  • Represent Jotun in relevant internal and external fora, to present and explain Jotun Sustainability strategy and approach as well as establish organisational engagement.
