Description:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years Classification experience or a familiarity with the process
- 5 years of relevant experience with technical product information or engineering details
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering and/or technical background
- Project management
- Proven ability to deliver
- Experience with classifications under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) is a pre
- Experience with Export (classification) Regulations; and as a Pre specifically, the EAR and the Commerce Control List (CCL), ITAR and the United States Munitions List (USML)
- 0-3 years working with Global Trade and related export classification matters
- Ability to understand or read Polish and familiarity with Polish requirements
- Experience in customs processing in the EU
- Experience with Collins/RTX current trade compliance related processes (classifications, authorizations, logging, compliant transfer modes, record keeping, etc.) and Collins specific Global Trade related systems (GTS, OCR, MKDenial, xClass, TEXPORT) is a plus.

We are seeking an experienced a Global Trade (GT) Technology team member! Reporting to the EMEA lead for Global Trade. The ideal candidate will be familiar with HS and Export control classification for the EU and more specifically Poland. Having a technical, analytical mind or engineering background would be preferable. The ideal candidate would also have a background or an understanding of the customs processing in Europe and again more specifically in Poland. The position requires both a high-level understanding of the products and the ability to learn to understand and interpret defining of classification. This team member will work to guide the site on customs and classification and be part of our global frame work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proven track record as a classifier. Clear understanding of the EU (PL requirements) HS and Export Control. A pre where an understanding already exist of U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and or other HTS related regulations
- Understanding and proven track record of customs requirements or import and or export
- Coordination and interpreting the product information to enable the classification of the parts
- Be able to align business objectives with Global Trade objectives
- Perform Jurisdiction and Classification (J/C) analysis and validation (resolution of JC escalation, supplier issues, etc.)
- Perform HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications.
- Support investigations and reviews of possible export and import compliance activities.
- Analyze business needs (including technology needs) with respect to export authorization requirements
- Support implementing of process, work instructions and business activities to ensure the correct classification processing.
- Work with the business to implement the correct controls for customs processing
