POSITION SUMMARY
The GME Vice President of Strategy is a proven healthcare strategist with exceptional leadership skills to support and shape HCA’s strategy through executive advisory, thought leadership, and project delivery. Working in a highly matrixed environment, the VP cultivates and manages strategic relationships with HCA leadership, providing insight and guidance to help solve their biggest challenges and define and execute plans ultimately shaping HCA’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) strategy. The VP is responsible for thought leadership across strategic focus areas by supporting and guiding teams to scope and deliver solutions via projects.

MBA or other advanced degree required

12+ years in consulting and/or healthcare and experience within GME

Responsibilities:
- Provide big-picture thought leadership across HCA’s GME strategy as well as support HCA leadership to solve the organization’s biggest challenges with original, impactful solutions.
- Lead strategic initiatives and oversee the development and delivery of deliverables and solutions across a portfolio of projects and teams, inside GME and beyond.
- Engage leaders through deep understanding of priorities & challenges, acting as a trusted advisor, participating in executive-level (VP) committees & discussions, developing plans and roadmaps. Able to participate in and respond to crucial conversations with senior leadership.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of HCA - strategy, structure (matrix), organization (divisions) – with ability to connect, shape and define HCA’s strategic direction. Be recognized as a thought leader and strategic advisor within HCA.
- Lead all aspects of strategic planning with corporate and division leadership including the development of vision, core strategies, goals, and key priorities.
- Manages key aspects of GMEs management structure, including strategy councils, senior leadership alignment meetings and divison/hospital operating model. senior leadership
- Manage members of the Strategy team, providing guidance and direction for performance, skills development and advancement.
- Shape the culture of GME operations and GME division teams as well as support the ongoing operations of the team in areas such as development, coaching, portfolio management, and communication/coordination.
- Establish and maintain external relationships as needed to support and advance HCA’s strategy.
