Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for discrete time modeling and analysis in the development of control systems.
  • Implement autocode generation on real-time targets and seamlessly integrate with flight software.
  • Evaluate and characterize the performance of GNC systems at the system level.
  • Extract and analyze relevant information from flight test data for system identification purposes.
  • Develop and maintain 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) simulations to support GNC system testing and validation.
  • Design and implement automated testing procedures to ensure the reliability and robustness of GNC systems.
  • Synthesize control system designs from sparse requirements and Concept of Operations (CONOPS).
  • Collaborate effectively with a small engineering team in an environment with sparsely defined processes.
  • Develop a broad range of control algorithms, including attitude control, autonomous waypoint navigation, and automated subsystems monitoring and management.
  • Contribute to trajectory optimization efforts to enhance overall system performance.
  • Lead the verification and validation processes for developed flight control systems.
  • Work with a variety of aircraft sensors and ensure seamless integration into the overall GNC architecture.
  • Utilize GIT and JIRA for version control and project management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-10 years of experience in GNC engineering, with a strong focus on MATLAB/Simulink, autocode generation, and system-level performance characterization.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing control algorithms for aerospace applications.
  • Experience with automated testing and verification/validation of flight control systems.
  • Some familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Programming in Python and at least one compiled language.

Sceye is based at a state-of-the-art facility at the airport in Moriarty, NM – an easy commute from Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and the small mountain towns of the Sandia Range.
