POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for maintaining professional and efficient service standards for food and beverage operations. This key role involves managing daily operations, training, and monitoring the performance of food and beverage team members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Club Members
  2. Build and maintain professional, respectful relationships with club members.
  3. Provide exceptional service to members and guests as needed.
  4. Ensure all outlet and refreshment cart services are of the highest standard.
  5. Collaborate with the Events Coordinator to support club events.
  6. Be knowledgeable about all food and beverage products offered at the club to effectively address member inquiries.
  7. Respond efficiently and accurately to member complaints.
  8. Enforce club rules and policies when necessary.
  9. Manage member reservations and drop-ins in an organised manner.
  10. Team Members
  11. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for all food and beverage team members.
  12. Train and develop team members with a focus on the club’s core values, mission, and vision.
  13. Ensure all team members are registered and compliant with ProServe regulations.
  14. Set goals, incentives, and recognition programs for the team aligned with the annual budget.
  15. Maintain consistent and clear communication with team members.
  16. Address performance issues and hold team members accountable when necessary.
  17. Encourage seamless communication and collaboration between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
  18. Delegate responsibilities to empower team members.
  19. Collaborate regularly with the Executive Chef and kitchen team.
  20. Department Management
  21. Maintain an on-floor presence, including working nights and weekends as required.
  22. Serve as a leader for the food and beverage team, providing feedback and support to staff and members.
  23. Ensure compliance with all food and safety regulations.
  24. Uphold established service standards across all operations.
  25. Assist with weekly ordering of liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies.
  26. Support inventory management and monthly inventory counts.
  27. Gather member feedback on menu items and conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing and offerings.
  28. Assist in creating department schedules.
  29. Support payroll processes and control labour costs as a percentage of department revenues.
  30. Update the POS system as needed.
  31. Prepare department communications for the AGM and Communications Coordinator, outlining updates and promotions.
  32. Provide reports to the Food and Beverage Manager as requested.
  33. Communicate with vendors to ensure accurate ordering, preferred pricing, and timely deliveries.
  34. Work with the accounting team to keep accounts payable up to date.
  35. Ensure accurate food and beverage information is reflected on the club’s website.
  36. Organise, clean, and stock all front-of-house areas, including storage rooms.
  37. Requirements
  38. Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within the food and beverage industry.
  39. Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, service standards, wine pairings, and culinary trends.
  40. Extensive beer and wine knowledge is an asset.
  41. Proven leadership skills with a focus on team motivation, development, and collaboration.
  42. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  43. Experience with various POS systems.
  44. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  45. Relevant certifications or education in hospitality or culinary arts are an asset.
  46. Must hold current certifications required for the role, including ProServe.
