JOB DESCRIPTION: GOLF OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Job Title: Golf Operations Supervisor
Department: Golf Operations
Department Head: Director of Golf Operations
Job Summary: As the Golf Operations Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the golf course. Reporting to the Director of Golf, you will coordinate activities, manage staff, and ensure efficient processes to deliver a superior experience for guests. This position requires a proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining high standards of service and operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of the game of golf preferred
  • Previous experience in golf course operations or hospitality management preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with iPad POS systems or ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of golf industry trends, rules, and etiquette.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

Operations & Guest Service:

  • Greet guests promptly and professionally as they arrive
  • Supervise guest-facing golf operations, including managing the tee sheet, reservations, pace of play, and golf cart fleet coordination.
  • Act as a key point of contact for guests, addressing questions and resolving concerns promptly.
  • Educate guests on course rules and etiquette to enhance their experience.
  • Process payments and ensure guests leave with a positive experience
  • Oversee cash handling, compliance with fee structure, and ensure proper tracking of transactions
  • Monitor inventory levels for golf supplies, merchandise, and equipment, and coordinate replenishment
  • Rotate retail displays and develop promotional strategies with the Director of Golf
  • Perform opening and closing duties as required

Event Coordination & Execution:

  • Assist with coordinating and executing golf events, tournaments, and group bookings
  • Occasionally attend BEO (Banquet Event Order) meetings to understand event needs and ensure successful implementation
  • Liaise with Food & Beverage Team and Director of Golf to ensure smooth execution of events
  • Ensure all event day requirements are met, including proximity markers, lunch tickets, cart signs, etc.

Team Collaboration & Facility Management:

  • Enforce golf course policies, including dress code, pace of play guidelines, and safety regulations.
  • Assist in leading and motivating a team of golf staff, including club ambassadors, proshop attendants, and golf operations assistants. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
  • Ensure cleanliness and order in the Proshop and on the golf course
  • Perform related administrative tasks
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the Director of Golf

Compliance & Safety:

  • Follow Ontario SmartServe policies
  • Identify and address potential hazards to maintain a safe environment for staff and guests.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to health and safety standards
