Job Description
The Golf Retail Supervisor will be responsible for working closely with the Golf Retail Manager to ensure the day to day successful operation of the golf retail department of the golf division. The Golf Retail Supervisor will be responsible for leading the day to day functioning while working in the retail golf operation to ensure the successful operation of the golf retail department. The successful candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and is comfortable making quick and creative decisions, and exceeding guest expectations while demonstrating a high level of responsibility for their own actions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the golf business.
  • Prior supervisory experience an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s Licenses and updated drivers abstract
  • Able to work flexible hours (early morning, evening and occasional split shifts)
  • Proficient in computer Programs (Microsoft Word and Excel, Reservation and POS systems). Experience using Golf Concept software is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a high attention to detail required
  • Ability to deal with high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment
  • Solutions-orientated, strong interpersonal skills and problem solving techniques
  • Highly motivated, career-minded team player who is guest driven with a passion to continually exceed expectations and anticipate needs
  • Business Degree or Diploma in a recognized Professional Golf Management is an asset

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Assistant Operations Managers - Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Be an integral part of the Golf Division leadership team – attending meetings, events and contributing to the culture and performance of the overall group.
  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Provide leadership, training and guidance with the direction of the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Assistant Operations Managers to the golf retail associates in the retail department and ensure opening and closing duties are completed efficiently.
  • Ensure colleagues are in accordance with grooming standards (including appropriate uniform) and performance expectations and discipline or recognize appropriately.
  • To make sure the operation and guest experience is the focus
  • Ensure a seamless guest experience and provide adequate recovery when required
  • Makin sure the retail colleagues are utilizing golf accessories book to use scanner for all sales to minimize errors and maximize efficiency
  • Ensure operations are set-up consistently each day and ready for opening on time and closed each night in a safe and secure manner.
  • To make sure all golf retail associates are well versed on product knowledge and sales techniques
  • With guidance from the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Assistant Operations Managers be responsible for merchandising and restocking
  • Daily recording of guest issues, golf cart damage/performance issues, and provided every evening to management in a detailed pass-on.
  • Manage day of labor needs reducing shifts as business dictates.
  • Communicate effectively with the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Assistant Operations Managers in regards to guest and colleague issues and operational deficiencies and opportunities
  • With guidance from the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Assistant Operations Managers making sure the retail department and retail experience of our members and guests. (look, feel, timeliness of service, execution, signage and safety).
  • Be accountable to the rental fleets programs ensuring each set of clubs and golf cart are in proper working order, clean and complete prior to guest usage and are properly signed in/out
  • Perform daily line-ups with staff and ensure key Daily Birdie information and GEOs for the day are shared
  • Actively ensure that merchandise standards are being maintained to ensure retail goals are met
  • Working with the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Assistant Operations Managers help roll out all staff incentives and focus on staff appreciation
  • Ensure operation areas are kept clean and safe at all times and the execution of inclement weather and wildlife policies is activated when required
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Able to lift 50 lbs (heavy golf bag, retail boxes) and carry for up to 100 yards
  • 80% of Shift is Computer work looking at a monitor
  • Repetitive tasks and movements
  • Other duties as assigned
