Description:
Sugar Bowl Resort is looking for a Gondola and Garage Manager to manage the operation of the gondola and garage to facilitate the safe and effective transportation of passengers, belongings and freight. Hire, train, motivate and discipline Gondola Operators. Be the driving force in assuring a culture of safety. Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Be an advocate for the Company mission, vision and policies. Protect the Company assets.
- Interview, reference check and hire Gondola staff.
- Ensure all Gondola operations and related Lift Maintenance policy and procedures are documented and observed.
- Review training programs to be used for pre-season as well as in-season training.
- Conduct pre-season and in-season training of Gondola as often as needed.
- Secure and maintain supplies and tools for the department.
- Ensure Gondoliers are on the job on time, in uniform, observe all company policies and fulfill the job duties.
- Coordinate the timely opening, service of and closing of the Gondola.
- Schedule and outline daily duties for direct reports, Leads and Operators.
- Train and schedule Gondola job sharers.
- Implement, enforce and audit cabin handling training compliance to ensure smooth operation.
- Conduct safety meetings on a regular basis and follow-up on on-the-job injuries.
- Collect and maintain daily checklists and logs.
- Conduct daily tour of all operation facilities daily, i.e. cabins, terminals, all stairs, restrooms and garage.
- Conduct daily cleaning of restrooms, garage trash and front of the house areas.
- Respond to all gondola or garage related incidents and ensure that proper reports are completed.
- Respond to all situations in need of guest relations.
- Maintain close contact with Lifts Director and Dispatch. Advise of problems, repairs, etc.
- Work closely with Village Services Director/Manager and Hotel Manager.
- Monitor and be prepared for daily arrivals/departures, both Villagers and Hotel guests.
- Porter homeowners and hotel guests luggage and personal items between garage and gondola.
- Assist guests load and unload cabins including personal belongings.
- Take ownership of the daily events with Sugar Bowl and ability to answer guest questions.
- Monitor and ensure proper operation of the garage gate.
- Ensure entry area of garage is clear of snow/ice
- Check vehicles parked in garage for proper credentials.
- Monitor staffing levels and expenses, staying in-line with the budget.
- Manage all daily timekeeping.
- Assist with alternate guest transportation when needed.
- Oversee gratuity program.
- Conduct seasonal/annual reviews.
- Snow removal in and around the gondola and garage buildings during and after storms.
- Any other duties as assigned
