Description:

This is a customer facing role which requires a professional, well-presented individual who is committed to delivering exceptional service.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in government sales or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience in sales, customer service, or a related field, ideally within the automotive industry.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Key Account Management: Manage and optimize the Government sales process to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Sales/Lead Generation: Contribute to lead generation activities by assisting in research and identifying potential government sales opportunities within an assigned territory or account portfolio. Collaborate with the National Fleet Sales Manager to qualify leads, assessing the potential value of each opportunity and the likelihood of success. Utilize CRM software to track and manage leads.
  • Government Procurement Processes: Support the team in managing the bidding process for government contracts. Assist in proposal development, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Contribute to contract negotiation under the supervision of a senior team member.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key government personnel, including procurement officers, budget managers, and other relevant stakeholders within key accounts; Develop a deep understanding of the needs and priorities each government agency/department; Conduct regular communication and networking activities, including attending industry events and conferences; Build trust and credibility by consistently delivering on commitments and providing exceptional service.
  • Client Support: Provide holistic sales and service support to portfolio of clients. Maintain detailed tracking of all vehicle orders and deliveries. Manage and control all service providers such as convertors/ bodybuilders and accessory fitters (canopy suppliers etc.) to ensure on time order delivery.
  • Proposal Development & Submission: Prepare and submit compelling proposals and bids that clearly articulate the value proposition of Ford’s offerings to meet all government requirements; Tailor proposals to the specific needs and priorities of each government agency; Ensure that all proposals are accurate, complete, and compliant with government regulations; Develop and maintain a library of standard proposal components and templates to streamline the proposal development process.
  • Contract Negotiation: Participate in contract negotiations under the guidance of a senior team member, assisting in preparation and contributing to discussions.; Effectively communicate the value of Ford’s offerings and address any concerns or objections raised by government officials; Ensure that all contract terms and conditions are clearly understood and accepted by both parties.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure strict adherence to all government regulations and reporting requirements throughout the sales process; Maintain detailed records of all contracts, communications, and transactions; Prepare regular reports on sales progress, contract status, and any compliance issues; ensure timely and accurate collection of payments.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast sales, track progress against targets, and provide regular reports to management; Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research as assigned by the National Fleet Sales Manager, focusing on specific areas or accounts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Manager and other team members to achieve sales targets and ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives; Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment; Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
