GOVERNMENT RELATIONS MANAGER FULL-TIME, PERMANENT SYDNEY CBD (HYBRID WORK MODEL)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in government relations or working with government in a policy or regulatory capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience engaging and influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to represent an organisation positively at the highest levels.
  • Understanding of policy, media, and government-related campaign coordination.
  • Competence in using digital tools for government relations and advocacy.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex research and policy to general audiences.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and work irregular hours when required.
  • Passion and understanding of social justice issues.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Government Relations Manager at Uniting, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies that strengthen our relationships with government stakeholders and advance our advocacy campaigns. You will act as a key liaison between Uniting and government entities, ensuring effective communication and alignment with organisational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder and Government Engagement: Develop and nurture strong relationships with government officials and other stakeholders. Act as a primary contact point between Uniting and government entities, ensuring clear communication and shared objectives.
