Description:

Lancaster Medical School (LMS) seeks to appoint a GP Clinical Teaching Fellow to join the growing Primary Care Academic Team (PCAT) to meet the need of our expanding medical school. The appointee will be clinically qualified and currently practising as a general practitioner.
The post available is 0.2FTE, one day-a-week on a Tuesday, indefinite role.
We have a well-established Primary Care Academic Team at LMS. The MBChB course benefits from significant input from GP teachers facilitating small group teaching throughout the undergraduate course. These are a hugely positive influence and have contributed to us being high in the national metrics for proportion of graduates choosing general practice as a career, and importantly, working locally in the NHS.
We are looking for GPs who have an enthusiastic approach that can inspire our students and who will fit into the existing team. These roles are enormously rewarding and can complement and invigorate GP clinical work.
The PCAT department is led by the Director and comprises a supportive leadership team of GP Senior Clinical Lecturers, together with a team of permanent GP-Clinical Teaching Fellows and sessional GP Tutors, supported administratively by a committed professional services team.
