Sunrise Waldorf School is accepting teacher applications for a Grade 7 class starting January 6 th , 2025 . This is a term position , ending June 2026 , with a possibility for extension.
Established in 1980, the beautiful seven-acre Sunrise campus is in the Cowichan Valley , near Duncan BC . Sunrise is a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education with a mission to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential through a rich and artistic Waldorf curriculum .
The ideal candidate will have a B.Ed. , B . C . Teaching Certificate, Waldorf teacher training and have teaching experience in a Waldorf school . Sunrise seeks a n organized, caring, and dynamic educator with positive classroom and behaviour management practices and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Sunrise is looking for a collegial team member who enjoys working with others to create a positive and collaborative school environment ; and, who has a ttributes such as integrity, kind ness , empathy, and adaptability . Communicating student progress
Classroom preparation
Staff meetings and committee work
Parent meetings and communication
Lunch and recess supervision
Regular professional development
Participation in festivals , recitals , and field trips
