We are seeking people with curious minds and who have a passion for data-driven problem-solving to join and shape our growing Insights & Analytics team. You will support delivery of some of the most challenging and exciting problems within the sector, from Rail and Highways to Telecoms and Future Energy. Hence, experience or passion in pursuing economic and community enhancements in infrastructure is key.
As we are a small team, your responsibilities will vary across the entire project lifecycle. We operate a start-up mentality and pace, with the support and resources of a global corporate. As a result, you must be comfortable working in an agile and evolving environment. You will be expected to bring fresh ideas based on your previous experience and contribute to shaping our team from both a cultural and technical perspective. Responsibilities:
YOUR ANTICIPATED RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Supporting technical project delivery
- Structuring, performing, and overseeing domain-centric analyses
- Exploring and modelling financial, economic, engineering and/or operational data develop insight and test hypothesis
- Understanding and considering the impact of technical delivery within the client organisation
- Clear and concise presentation of results through a variety of mediums, adapting the level of technical content to suit the intended audience
- Supporting the team with identifying, pursuing and securing additional opportunities for work that will deliver tangible customer benefit
- Articulating your views and honest perspectives through active listening and engaged participation
- Actively engaging with team growth activities and operational tasks
- Pursuing, with support, opportunities to improve your technical and non-technical skills
To deliver against these responsibilities you will demonstrate:
- Studies in a relevant subject including but not limited to data science, computer science, mathematics, economics, statistics, operational research, information management
- Understanding of statistical methods and concepts such as regression-based techniques, quantifying and evaluating uncertainly, sampling methods and probability distributions
- Previous use of one or more data engineering/science languages, preferably, Python, R, or SQL in both a data manipulation and programming capacity, experience with data visualisation programme
