Job Description
Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Energy Transmission Team in our Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol offices, we are looking to increase our technical workforce and are seeking to recruit a Graduate Energy Transitions Engineer for a June 2025 onwards start.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Masters/Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline – e.g. Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to continued education and improvement through participating in our approved training schemes.
  • Demonstrable interest in a career in renewable energy, energy transition and decarbonisation
  • Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive
  • Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some familiarity with simulation software, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and ArcGIS would be beneficial.
  • Work experience in the renewable energy, energy transition or related field (e.g., working for either a power developer, equipment manufacturer, or consultant)
  • Driving licence – some travel to site may be required
  • Student member of an appropriate professional institution

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of consultancy services on renewable and energy transition engineering projects
  • Provide input into feasibility level studies for renewable energy and energy transition projects in conjunction with the wider AECOM teams
  • Collate and process project data from a wide variety of sources
  • Prepare drawings, calculations and reports
  • Present detailed design information
  • Assist in securing work with renewable energy and energy transition developers and their supply chain
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams with subject matter experts
