We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Cyber Security Analyst to join our Service Operations & Security Team, within our Digital and Data function. The Service Operations team are responsible for the day-to-day availability and reliability of our ‘live’ Digital and technology services and ensuring these meets the requirements of our customers and colleagues. Formed of the Digital & Data Service Desk, Site Support, Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams, they, together maintain a stable, reliable and secure environment through providing a professional and innovative services. We’re offering up to £35,000, along with a 10% annual bonus and flexible hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role sits in the Cyber Security team reporting directly into the Cyber Security manager. As a Graduate Cyber Security Analyst at NHS Property Services, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing our Cyber Security tools and processes. Your primary focus will be on monitoring, analysing and investigating threats to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of NHS Property Services’ systems and data. This role is crucial in protecting our business from Cyber threats and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

You Will :

  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on security alerts and incidents from various sources, including Microsoft Defender (M365, Cloud, Endpoint, Cloud Apps) and Azure Sentinel.
  • Participate in audits and other Cyber Security exercises, providing supporting documentation.
  • Monitor the corporate environment to identify security issues or incidents through proactive threat hunting.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of secure identity management both on-premises and in the cloud through Microsoft Entra ID, making use of solutions such as PIM (Privileged Identity Management) and conditional access policies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of security incidents and participate in post-incident reviews.
  • Stay updated on IT security trends, best practices and the threat landscape, including zero-day vulnerabilities.
  • Provide and contribute to Cyber Security-related reporting dashboards for various levels within the company (regulatory, board updates, vulnerabilities etc).

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Azure Sentinel and other security tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for staying updated on the latest Cyber Security trends and technologies.
