POSITION SCOPE

The Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a two (2) year structured learning and development program for select new graduates who hired into the ASR Group Engineering team.

As part of the GDP, you will have access to support and mentorship from Company leaders, technical Subject Matter Experts, and former GDP participants who will all help guide you as you start your career with us.
We are looking for entry-level engineers in the following discipline: Chemical

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Time Management: Having the ability to manage and monitor a large number of projects to completion.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Communication: The ability to effectively and clearly communicate information and ideas.
  • Self-starter: Have a strong sense of urgency and is deadline-oriented. The ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Interest in pursuing a career path as a leader in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to write clearly and accurately.
  • Prior related internship experience is a plus

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • 0 -2 years of professional work experience (including internships and co-ops)
  • Validated leadership experience through extra-curricular activities, employment and/or internship experiences preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop multi-discipline (chemical, mechanical, controls, industrial or electrical) proficiency during the program
  • Review technical reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly Energy/Water)
  • Perform basic lab tests with supervision of lab manager, prepare daily technical report with supervision
  • Produce SIPOC diagram for the department’s operations, Key physical locations.
  • Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement projects
  • General electrical troubleshooting & equipment (starters, VFD, Soft starts & breakers)
  • Perform Operational & Cost Studies
  • Perform Tasks as an Area Supervisor
